Episode Review: Lisa's Pony

Lisa is playing a school talent show and requires a new reed for the girl saxophone. She calls the girl father, Homer, who agrees to buy one before heading towards show. However, he decides to check out Moe's Tavern first, then when he arrives at this music shop, it has closed down for that night. Dejected, Homer extends back to Moe's where this music shop owner is enjoying a drink. Moe helps him convince the man to re-open his store. Homer is happy which he remembered exactly which reed he must get; however, he next forgets which instrument Lisa represents. After going through the majority of the instruments in the store, Homer finally remembers in which Lisa plays the saxophone and rushes towards school. However, he can be too late, arriving on time to hear Lisa humiliate himself by butchering the song she decided to play.

Despite Marge's warnings they cannot afford it, Homer decides to purchase a pony for Lisa to win back her love. To spend the money for pony, he applies for the loan through the Electric power Plant Credit Union. Mr. Melts away personally reviews the loan, and approves it solely after determining that Homer doesn't intend to eat the pony possesses no knowledge of this "state's stringent usury laws. " Homer buys this pony (named Princess) with regard to Lisa, and, after waking up to find it lying beside her, she gallops straight into her parents' bedroom happily telling Homer she enjoys him. While Homer is happy that Lisa isn't a longer angry with your ex, Marge is upset which he made such an lavish purchase.

In order to cover the rent for Princess's animal shelter, Homer takes a second job doing work for Apu at the Kwik-E-Mart. Homer becomes more and more exhausted after trying to function both jobs. Finally, Marge admits to your children that their father has become working two jobs to pay for the pony. Marge tells Lisa that she is not going to make her give the pony, as it is something Lisa must decide for herself. Soon after watching a meek, sleep-deprived Homer being bullied by her own son at the Kwik-E-Mart, Lisa agrees to quit the pony, and your lover shares a heart-breaking so long with Princess. Lisa tells Homer there's a "big dumb animal" she loves more than her horse, which is Homer himself.
