Episode Review: Separate Vocations

Right after taking career understanding tests, scored with a malfunctioning computer, Lisa discovers the occupation she is most effective for is homemaker, while Bart's test demonstrates he should be a policeman. Lisa is heartbroken over the result and is set to prove this test wrong. The lady consults a songs teacher for his / her opinion, but they tells her that will, having inherited the woman father's stubby arms, she can never be a professional saxophone participant. Lisa is therefore required because of the test to spend the morning doing chores with her mother Marge, while Bart goes on a ride-along with the police.

Lisa hates her role as being a homemaker and, realizing that the woman future dreams are shattered, loses involvement in being a beneficial student. Bart enjoys spending time with the authorities, and he even ultimately ends up stopping Snake Jailbird after a car chase. When Principal Skinner detects Bart's new involvement in law enforcement, he enlists him as being a hall monitor. Bart starts providing demerits to his / her classmates for minor infractions and possesses order restored towards school. Meanwhile, Lisa turns into a sulky, rebellious student with no interest in school. She hangs away with girls from the bad girls rest room, makes snippy comments at Miss Admiral, is disciplined simply by Skinner and the woman grades drop therefore. The girls are impressed with Lisa's latest bad behavior and her a smoke. Though hesitant to simply accept, she takes this and tells all of them that she'll smoke it in class.

One day within detention for yet another snippy comment, Lisa secretly steals each of the Teachers' Editions of the schoolbooks and shows the teachers' incompetence. If the books turn upwards missing, it's up to Bart to find out who stole all of them. He finds this books in Lisa's locker and realizes the girl with the culprit. Shutting her locker, Lisa confesses towards crime and shows she stole all of them because she was rebelling against the woman chosen occupation as being a homemaker. She likewise tells Bart that will before he became a hall keep an eye on, he used to relish the simple flexibility of rebellion. He or she admits so, but tells Lisa that even he previously his limits understanding that she could face expulsion for her actions. When Skinner confirms the books, he or she is overjoyed, but after that asks who took them. Bart takes this blame and earnings to his life as being a bad student in addition to detention hall frequent, while Lisa goes back to being a great student. When Milhouse normally takes him to Skinner's office, she asks Bart exactly why he took the blame for her.
